How to speed up your Computer by changing the Appearance Settings in Windows
This video will show you how to speed up your computer by changing the windows appearance settings. The more options you de-select, the faster your system will be.
In the 'Performance Options' windows in the 'Visual Effects' tab, there are many visual effects that we can turn on or off. By default, there will be a dot in the radio button beside 'Let Windows choose what's best for my computer'. More often than not, Windows chooses to use almost all of the visual effects to make Windows look more appealing to the user. However, if you are like me and aren't that bothered about extra animations and graphics, then you can turn off many of this visual effects to speed up your computer.
To get to the Performance Options Window, open the 'Start Menu' and right-click 'Computer'. Select 'Properties from this drop-down menu. Then press 'Advanced system settings' in the top right and this will bring up the 'System Properties' window. Select the 'Advanced' tab and then press the 'Settings...' button under the 'Performance' subheading. Next, put a dot in the radio button next to 'Adjust for best performance' if you want to turn off all visual effects, or 'Custom' if you want to choose the visual effects that you want to remain active.
There is no doubt that turning off many or all of these visual effects will increase the performance of your computer. I particularly advise doing this if your computer doesn't have that much RAM (Random Access Memory).
